Recruitment Fair 2014

Organised over 2 days, the Annual Recruitment Fair attracted over 70 top employers and volunteering organisations including; Irwin Mitchell, UTC Aerospace, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Redrow Construction, Decathlon, POhWER, Age UK, Army Reserve Platoon, HMPS, Citizen’s Advice bureau, Wolverhampton City Council, Carillion Plc, Royal Marines and many more.

Businesses demonstrated the value placed on the skills of Wolverhampton students and graduates.

The event enabled leading organisations to promote their part-time jobs, graduate jobs, placement and volunteering opportunities to high calibre graduates and students. A variety of private, public and voluntary sector organisations attended the event advertising a range of opportunities. The employers are expecting to fill all the opportunities over the next few weeks.

Dean of Students, Jon Elsmore said: “As the University of Opportunity, we equip our students with the right skills to contribute to the knowledge economy and to meet the needs and expectations of employers.

"Our strong and developing links with leading businesses and local organisations ensured a high turn-out from our students and graduates, who are ready to make a significant contribution to the local economy and beyond.

“The Workplace provides excellent advice to our students and recent graduates so they stand out from the crowd when applying for jobs, and we also have successful initiatives to support graduates into jobs.”

Students and graduates could also access advice from Careers Advisors on completing CVs and application forms and find out about postgraduate study at the event.
