University hosts 11th Annual Justice Service

02/03/2015

Legal representatives and high profile dignitaries will process through the city centre as part of the University of Wolverhampton’s annual Justice Service being held later this month.

The event is attended by the Lord Lieutenant as representative of the Queen, High Court Judges, the High Sheriff, Circuit judges, solicitors, barristers, magistrates, probation officers, police, Mayors, civic and ecclesiastical leaders together with representatives from the University.

Uniformed students and law students are encouraged to attend and engage with potential future employers.

This is the 11th Justice Service hosted by the University. The event takes place every March in St Peters Church, organised with the School of Law.

A procession led by the university mace bearer moves across from the University before the service, which begins at 11am.

University Senior Chaplain Rev Eddie Wynn said: “The annual Justice Service has become an important event in the civic life of the city and is always very well attended. It is an opportunity for the city to honour the work of all those serving and upholding justice in the region.”

The service will be held on Sunday March 8, followed by a special lunch for guests at the University.
