Learning Works

Learning Works is a step into tomorrow; a future where the University will better prepare students for the world they will face upon graduation, and beyond.

It has meant that we have reviewed all our undergraduate courses, drawing on past and current successes, and have enriched the Undergraduate portfolio across the board. We have listened to students, employers and professional bodies, simplified our course structures, clarified our course content and reviewed all our course titles.

We have created two new Institutes in order to bring together different disciplines where this will support new forms of student learning.  The Institute of Gaming and Animation brings together courses with an IT base and courses with an Art/Design base to provide students with the best of both of these disciplines in courses such as Animation and Computer Games Design.  The Institute for Media Arts brings together expertise from Social Sciences/English with Art/Design so that courses such as Video and Film Production, and Media and Communication Studies are based on both analytical and design principles.
