Sri Lankan students celebrate graduation

On Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 June 2013 more than 80 students came together in Colombo to mark the occasion.

The University offers degree courses with its partner institutions the Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (CINEC) and the British College of Applied Studies (BCAS) in the country.

The CINEC graduation saw 55 students studying BEng Electronics and Communications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics graduate.

The following day 30 the BCAS graduation saw 30 students graduate in BSc Quantity Surveying and LLB Law.

The ceremonies were attended by Vice- Chancellor of the University of Wolverhampton, Professor Geoff Layer, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Professor Ndy Ekere and Dean of the University of Wolverhampton Business School and the School of Law, Social Sciences and Communications.

Professor Layer said: “We are proud of our relationships with our partners in Sri Lanka and of our students who have graduated in these ceremonies.

“Graduation is always a special moment for students and their families, and as always it was a tremendous occasion for all involved.

“We are looking forward to many more ceremonies like these in the future.”

The University has had educational links in Sri Lanka for more than seven years and the delivery of the programmes are part of Wolverhampton’s transnational education partnerships scheme.
