The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has provided official registration for the service, reassuring users that it is regulated, inspected and in the future will be provided with a  CQC rating and full report.

HealthScan uses state-of-the-art bone density scanning technology with a wide range of applications including:

  • Measurement of bone mineral density including diagnosis of osteoporosis and osteopenia.
  • Overall body fat composition.
  • Detailed muscle composition.

The Institute of Human Sciences service can be used by people from all walks of life including elite athletes and those on a structured weight management or exercise plan.

James Pearson-Jenkins, the CQC registered Manager, said:  “We’re delighted that our application and subsequent inspection by the Care Quality Commission for our HealthScan facility has been successful. The team are all proud to welcome service users, students and staff for both Bone Densitometry and Body Composition scans in our purpose designed facility at Walsall Campus.

“Visitors can now be assured that our service was deemed at a standard fit to be registered by the CQC and that our team were able to clearly show our dedication to excellent care, safety and wellbeing.”
