13/06/2017

Research excellence at the University of Wolverhampton will be showcased at the two day Annual Research Conference (ARC) at City Campus this month.

A wide variety of work from different areas - including cybersecurity, construction, microbiology and tourism - will be presented.

The packed programme will see academics and doctoral students present their work and provide opportunities for further discussion.

Topics include brownfield building challenges, understanding the sustainability credentials of everyday products, latest cancer research and the impact of sedentary behaviour on bones.

Professor John Darling, Dean of Research said: “The University of Wolverhampton attracts high-calibre researchers in a diverse range of disciplines with the common aim of bettering our society and breaking new ground.

“There’s a constant drive for discovery and innovation, which creates an exciting and dynamic research community, and this two day event is an opportunity to find out more about some of the work taking place.”

Day one will feature doctoral student presentations and a poster competition, and day two will see some of the University’s leading academics present their research findings.

The event takes place on June 19 and 20 and is free but places are limited.
