Health & Wellbeing fairs taking place next week

All staff and students are invited to attend this year’s Health & Wellbeing Fairs,taking place next week at:

Monday 11th June from 10.30 to 14.30 - in the Sports Hall Studio at Walsall Campus

Tuesday 12th June from 11:00 to 15.00 - in the Courtyard at Wolverhampton Campus

The events will have a whole range of activities for you to try out, plus some really useful advice and information from NHS and local voluntary sector organisations, as well as: 

  • FREE health checks – including blood pressure monitoring and diabetes testing
  • FREE smoothies (if you cycle enough to run the blender!)
  • FREE acupressure head and neck massages
  • Payroll Giving
  • Wlvuni Benefits
  • Cycle Scheme
  • Employers for Carers
  • Chase Fit and Wheels for All
  • Diabetes UK
  • Guide Dogs for the Blind
  • Medical Detection Dogs

Please note that the massages need to be pre-booked at the stand on the day, and that anyone wishing to have the Diabetes check-up should allow a minimum of 15 minutes and will have to complete some forms at the stall on the day.

To coincide with the Health Fairs, we have a number of additional activities taking place:

  • At Walsall Campus on 11th June, we will be collecting miles for the NHS Bikeathon Challenge! Cycle for up to 15 minutes at your own pace and we will donate collective miles to the NHS as a 70th birthday gift. The Bikeathon Challenge will take place from 9.30am-4pm in the Sports Centre.   • At Wolverhampton campus on 12th June between 1pm and 2pm, we will be hosting a Presentation and Q&A session with Justin Morris from Team Novo Nordisk, the world’s first all-diabetes professional cycling team. Arrival and refreshments from 12.30pm in MC001.

We are also pleased to confirm that we have secured a discount for all staff and students with City baths in Wolverhampton. An individual swim will cost just £2 until the end of September 2018. All you need to do is show your Staff ID card at reception.
