Christmas Appeal 2019

The DSAS (Directorate of Student and Academic Services) Christmas Appeal for 2019 invites you to donate dried or tinned food, toiletries, nappies and household cleaning products for distribution by food banks across Wolverhampton, Walsall and Telford.

Deadline to donate

13 December 2019: Across all campuses including City, Walsall, Telford

About the Food Bank

The Food Bank provides support for families and single people struggling to buy food and other essentials. For the poor and vulnerable throughout the year, people on low incomes, a sudden crisis can mean going hungry. The Food Banks help prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems. A simple box of food makes a big difference.

How you can help

We are seeking your help and support by donating any of the following items. This is a great opportunity for work colleagues to get together and donate small, much needed items for those who might not otherwise experience the exchange of gifts or celebrations at Christmas time.

Types of items required:

  • Milk (UHT), cereal, tea/coffee, sugar, jams & spreads
  • Meat (tinned), vegetables/soup(tinned), pasta sauce (jar),  fruit/puddings (tinned), couscous/pulses, pasta/rice/noodles (dried)
  • Squash/fruit juice(UHT), biscuits/snack bars
  • Ladies/men toiletries, baby wipes/shampoo/lotion, nappies (any size, sealed pack), household cleaning products, feminine hygiene products

We ask that tins and non-perishable foods are within their sell-by-date.
