What’s new at the University Library?

04/10/2018

To all new students – welcome to the University of Wolverhampton.  We know you won’t be ready to dive into those books straight away, so when want to find out about the University Library and the resources and skills and study support we offer come take a look at our library webpage at www.wlv.ac.uk/lib.  We have an induction video called getting ahead and an Induction Checklist that will help your get started. You can also talk to our friendly helpful staff at any of our 4 libraries (City, Telford, Walsall or Burton) and request an induction or tour at any time of year. Just come in and ask a member of library staff.

To returning students, welcome back!

You’ll notice a few changes have taken place over the summer. Learning Centres have been rebranded to ‘Libraries’ and we’ve upgraded our Library system and also changed our loans policy to bring the following benefits:

  • You can now borrow up to 30 books at a time.
  • You no longer need to worry about forgetting to renew your books. The new “Auto-renewals” service allows you to keep your loans until they’ve been requested by someone else.
  • Fines for overdue books are now £1 per day. (But with auto-renewals you’ll be far less likely to incur fines.)
  • Loan and return books is fast and simple using our new self-service kiosks.
  • LibrarySearch is our new library catalogue, making it easy to locate and request learning resources.
  • Access your library account (My Account) using your IT username and password (no more borrower number and PIN to remember.)
