Have you got the SKILLS to succeed this assessment season?

30/04/2021

We've got you!

It’s assessment season, and everyone is trying to stay on top of their schedules.

But please don’t worry, our Skills for Learning  team are here to help you to develop more effective approaches to your studies and assessments.

  • Want a hand with time management? Watch our short video tutorial for some top tips!
  • If you’ve been struggling to adapt to digital learning during covid - we now offer support with developing your digital study skills  using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Canvas. Join our weekly workshops and drop-in sessions for studying online.
  • You may also be preparing for resubmissions of work.  Some of the most common feedback we hear from tutors is that students struggle to paraphrase effectively, don’t use a critical voice in their writing, and use citations incorrectly.

Here's a sample of upcoming Workshops

  • Thursday, 6 May, 10.30 am – 12 midday: Introduction to reflective writing
  • Thursday, 6 May,  2.30 pm - 4 pm: Introduction to critical thinking
  • Friday, 7 May, 9.30 am – 11 am: Finding academic information
  • Friday, 7 May, 2.30 pm - 4 pm: Basic writing skills
  • Saturday, 8 May, 10.30 am – 12 midday: Introduction to critical thinking
