A conference focusing on research into psychological matters is to once again be hosted by the University of Wolverhampton.

Returning for a second year, the “Research Conference in Psychology” will be held on Thursday 19 December 2013 at the University’s City Campus.

The conference will open with a keynote speech from the University’s Dr Coral Dando, who will reflect on her research into detecting deception in the field of Forensic Psychology.

Talks throughout the free, one-day event will also cover topics such as Memory, Occupational Psychology, Cyberpsychology, Applied Psychology, Issues in Mental Health and Disabilities.

Speaking about the event, Dr Richard Darby, Head of Psychology at the University of Wolverhampton, said: “We’re delighted that the conference is back for a second year and we can’t wait to hear the interesting talks from our staff and research students.

“Dr Dando is the recipient of the European Association of Psychology and Law Early Career Award for 2013, and I’m sure her talk on deception will be fascinating.

“I’d urge everyone interested in the conference to book their attendance as soon as possible.”

The deadline for registration to the event is Friday 6 December.
