Academic to reveal how British entrepreneurship education can inspire China

A University of Wolverhampton academic will share UK education entrepreneurship success stories to inspire an audience in China this week.

Karen Bill has been invited by the China-Britain Business Council to address a national conference of senior education professionals.

She is presently Chair of Enterprise Education UK (EEUK), a world-leading promoter of entrepreneurship education, and an Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise at the University, as well as a Director of Athena Swan, championing female academics.

Karen said: “To set up and grow a business, you need more than academic qualifications and entrepreneurship education is increasingly important. This is a new area for China and I think there is a lot they can learn from the UK; we have some excellent examples which will support this work.

“I am very much looking forward to learning more about education in China and sharing some best practice at the event to inspire others. Entrepreneurship is also high on the agenda at the University of Wolverhampton and we are helping a growing number of graduates set up their own businesses.”

The aim of EEUK is to support UK higher and further education institutions to increase the scale, scope and effectiveness of enterprise and entrepreneurship education through both courses and extracurricular activities.

Karen will speak at the Tiaijin Education Commission on Thursday March 10.
