New partnership opportunities with Iraqi university

The University of Wolverhampton has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a university college in Iraq.

Al-Kitab University is based in Altun Kupri, near the city of Kirkuk and representatives visited Wolverhampton to sign an agreement last week.

In the first instance it is envisaged that students from Al-Kitab University will come and undertake studies at Wolverhampton’s UK campuses.

There will also be opportunities for joint research and conferences.

Pro Vice-Chancellor International at the University, Tim Steele, said: “We are delighted to have signed this new agreement with Al-Kitab University which signals the development of an exciting new partnership for the University of Wolverhampton.  Al-Kitab is a relatively new University and is playing an important part in the development within the region and we are extremely pleased to be working with them as we build on our values as the University of Opportunity.”

A number of visitors came to the University’s recent graduation ceremonies at The Grand Station in Wolverhampton.

The visitors were Professor Ayad Barznchy, President of Al-Kitab University, Mr Yaqoob Bibani, Academic investor and Al-Kitab University Owner and Professor Rami Al-Hadeethi, Director of International Affairs.
