Associated Studios launch a new Master’s in Musical Theatre

12/06/2020

Associated Studios Performing Arts Academy is thrilled to announce the launch of a Master’s degree in Musical Theatre Performance, validated by the University of Wolverhampton.

Associated Studios takes pride in developing performers of the highest calibre and have trained a string of notable performers who have appeared as Leads and Swings in the West End, in national and international tours and in provincial UK theatres.

This vocational MA offers one year of intensive, full-time practical training in singing, dance, and acting, as well as the broader creative skills required to become an outstanding musical theatre performer.

Founding Principal of Associated Studios and renowned West End/ International Vocal Coach, Leontine Hass, said: "We are so proud to be able to offer high-level training, taught by Industry professionals, at master’s level from October 2020.

"We are very much looking forward to receiving applications from talented performers. Performers with at least 5 years industry experience who have attained an advanced level of skills, can also be considered for this MA even if they do not hold a prior degree. I feel very strongly that performers deserve to be rewarded for their incredibly hard work and commitment to their talent and artistry, by achieving a recognised qualification, and one that might stand them in good stead for the future.

"MA students will be eligible for Government student loans, so important in the current climate. Last year we moved to our new home; a beautiful three storey terrace building in Kensington, London W10, just a stone’s throw from the West End. We are very excited about what we can offer our students and continuing to train the performers of the future."

Dr Sarah Browne, Head of the School of Performing Arts at the University of Wolverhampton is delighted that the School is now working in partnership with Associated Studios. She said: "Associated Studios is highly respected in the musical theatre industry. They have a well-established reputation for delivering practical training of the highest quality which ensures their graduates are fully prepared for a career in musical theatre. We are absolutely delighted that we can work in partnership with the team at Associated Studios to deliver training to postgraduate students and look forward to seeing future cohorts perform in the West End and beyond."

Associated Studios Patron, Lyricist Sir Tim Rice said: "Associated Studios will prepare you for a competitive but thrilling business and inspire you as a performer. You will be working with brilliant practitioners who have an extraordinary wealth of knowledge."
