Reactions series 2019-2023
Kiln fired float glass with chemical inclusions.
Throughout her studies Suzie has been exploring the possibilities of capturing and manipulating chemical reactions within glass. Various geological compounds and elements were extensively tested as inclusions within float glass to discover exciting reactions and results. This research is underpinned by a fascination with coastal rock formations and geology of the Welsh Ceredigion coast.
In turn this has led to the creation of contemporary sculptural glass works which themselves suggest and echo the perceived origins of the very minerals used to create the pieces.
