University NSS results show increased satisfaction across the board

10/07/2025

The results of the National Student Survey 2025 (NSS), an annual satisfaction survey of final year undergraduates across the UK, have been released.

I am delighted to share that this year’s University results show significant improvements compared to last year across all seven themes, reflecting our excellence in teaching, providing feedback and support, and giving our students opportunity to share their voice throughout their academic journey.

We are especially pleased to be above sector, as well as positioned within the top half of the ranking for the four teaching related themes: Teaching on my course; Learning opportunities; Assessment and feedback; and Student voice, when compared to sector and our local universities.

We are also very encouraged to see that we are 8.6% above sector for student satisfaction for the question on 'How often does feedback help you improve work?' and for Student voice, 5.9% above sector for the question on 'How clear it is that student feedback on course is acted on?'.

In addition, satisfaction with the Students’ Union rose by 7% this year, reaching 77%. This places it within the top half of universities nationally, reflecting the growing impact of student representation and advocacy on campus.

These results underscore the University’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the student experience and delivering high-quality education. Further analysis of the results is underway, and we’ll be using these insights to inform upcoming initiatives and improvements across the University.

I want to thank every student who took the time to complete the survey, and all students encourage to continue to engage with feedback opportunities. Your input helps us understand what we’re doing well and where we can continue to improve.

Best wishes,
