Help make a difference by raising your voice. Become a member of the University LGBTQIA+ working group.

We are inviting our staff and students to be part of the LGBTQIA+ working group. The working group will meet to discuss the inequalities LGBTQIA+ staff and students face whilst at work or when studying. From the issues raised, guidance and policies will be implemented to ensure we as a university are combating these, creating a better environment and experience of our staff and students.

The outcomes from this group would look at issue such as: incorporating inclusive language, training, but most importantly asking our LGBTQIA+ staff and students which changes need to be incorporated.

Aisha_blogAisha James, LGBTQIA+ Staff network co-chair, said: "This working group is imperative to improve the experience of LGBTQIA+ staff and students in the University. You can help shape how we move forward and share your lived experiences with LGBTQIA+ issues and topics. Lived experiences are pivotal for us to understand which direction we need to go, and we are dedicated to making continual improvements for all."

The meetings will occur on a quarterly basis. If you are interested in becoming a part of this group and want to see changes made, please email equality@wlv.ac.uk .We encourage allies to join this working group too.
