An aspiring events manager celebrates achieving a first-class honours degree after balancing university studies and new motherhood throughout the pandemic.

Eve Dace, from Lichfield, has graduated today after studying (BA Hons) Event and Venue Management at the University of Wolverhampton Business School.

Following recommendations from a number of university alumni and the ability to have a good work-life balance, Eve states Wolverhampton was the ‘perfect fit’ to continue her education journey.

Eve joined the University in January 2018, originally studying Marketing and Events but transferred courses in her second year, to steer her towards her dream career.

Eve said: “I just knew this course was the better choice for me and the University’s support was second-to-none, making the transition so simple and seamless.”

During the pandemic, Eve also became a first-time mum to her son Xavier, meaning she had to juggle her studies while adapting to motherhood.

The 23-year-old states the support from the University and her course leader has been fantastic throughout and describes her student experience as ‘unique’ but wouldn’t change it for the world.

Eve_Dace_TeaserEve said: “My student journey has been amazing, and I feel so privileged to be part of the University of Wolverhampton.

“The support I’ve received has been incredible. From personal support to career development – the support from lecturers, the Students’ Union, and my cohort has been fantastic.

“A lot of blood, sweat, and tears has gone into getting my degree - I never thought I’d be putting this cap and gown on and it’s an unbelievable feeling to be celebrating with my friends and family.

“Looking back at my time here, the best memories I’ll take with me are the amazing people I’ve met along the way and the fantastic events we’ve hosted together.

“The ultimate key to being happy is loving what you’re doing, and I can honestly say, I’m doing exactly that.”

Since completing her studies in January 2021, Eve has managed a variety of company events such as charity fundraising events, summer BBQs and the all-important company Christmas party where she works as a Supply Planner at MSC Industrial Supply.

Eve said: “I’ve always had a passion for events. I love seeing a plan come together and working with a range of different people. It’s amazing when you see everyone having a great time and knowing you’ve made that happen; there’s no feeling quite like it.”

Inspired as a young girl, attending concerts and large-scale events, Eve aspires to one day, manage events at the top venue in the UK, The NEC Birmingham.
