Honorary Award presented to inspirational gender equality campaigner

A local campaigner for gender equality has been presented with an Honorary Doctor of Letters by the University of Wolverhampton. 

Clare Roberts-Molloy is a women’s Leadership Coach and Business Development professional, having held strategic and senior leadership roles across the private and charitable sectors for more than 15 years. She now runs her own successful coaching and business consultancy practice. 

Honorary awards are presented by the University of Wolverhampton to people who have made a significant contribution to their field of expertise. 

Clare has a degree in Psychology and Management, a Master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice and is completing her Master’s in Business Administration at Aston University. For the past 15 years she has been a Magistrate in the Black Country and Chairs both Adult and Family Courts.  

She is passionate about promoting women’s rights and is an award-winning social entrepreneur, having founded multiple not-for-profits including TEDxWolverhampton, TEDxWolverhampton Women, Periods Matter, reducing period poverty in Wolverhampton, and Fawcett West Midlands with the aim of promoting gender equality across the region.  

Previously a Director of Women of Wolverhampton, Chair of Wolverhampton Women’s Business Forum and Vice Chair of Chase Pride, Clare is regularly invited to speak as an advocate for gender equality and women’s rights. 

Clare said: “I'm absolutely delighted to be recognised for my work in the field of gender equality and to have been selected by the University of Wolverhampton to receive an Honorary Doctor of Letters. It truly is an honour!” 

The University’s graduation ceremonies take place at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton, from Thursday 14 September to Friday 22 September 2023.
