Library Update: Extended support for the assessment season

As we approach the Christmas break and assessment season, the University Library has increased its support with extended opening hours; regular academic skills drop-in sessions and online workshops, maths support, and new resources. 

 24/7 opening and extended weekends

The Library is extending its opening hours in support of the Assessment season with 24/7 opening at Harrison Library alongside extended weekend opening at Walsall Campus Library. The extended weekend offer enables you to access the library study spaces and facilities between 10am and 10pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Maths support

The Maths Support service is once again available and can help you with any level of mathematics, statistics or numeracy. The service is based on the ground floor of Harrison Library and is open to all students.

Our drop-ins provide a relaxed, friendly and non-judgemental atmosphere offering assistance with any aspects of Mathematics or Mathematics-related subjects.  You will be helped on a first come, first served basis, so please come along during the following times:

  • Mondays: 11am – 2pm
  • Tuesdays: 12pm – 2pm
  • Wednesdays: 12pm – 2pm
  • Thursdays: 11am – 2pm

New Resource – Anatomy.tv

University Library now subscribes to Anatomy.TV, an online interactive educational resource on human anatomy.​ You can access this directly from LibrarySearch.

From the Anatomy.tv site you can access​

  • 3D Atlas – The perfect tool for understanding the structure and function of the human body, with detailed anatomical text covering every structure.​
  • Anatomy & Physiology - Provides comprehensive foundations in function from gross to microanatomy - 20-topic systemic resources filled with interactive models and animations, as well as case studies, clinical content and quizzing​.

Rapid Inter-Library Loans 

The University Library provides an Inter-Library Loan (ILL)service for items outside our collection, and we have recently invested in a new tool to increase the speed of delivery of online journal articles, where available. You can request journal articles using the online ILL form or via LibrarySearch and where available they will be delivered to your library account.
