University showcases Degree Apprentices during National Apprenticeship Week

04/02/2022

This year, the 15th annual National Apprenticeship Week (#NAW2022) will run from Monday 7th February through to Sunday 13th February 2022 with the theme ‘BUILD THE FUTURE’ and the University is showcasing the impact Apprenticeships have on communities, local businesses and regional economies.

The University of Wolverhampton has been providing Degree Apprenticeships for five years, helping to plug skills gaps in key industry sectors across the region and further afield.

We opened our Apprenticeship Hub five years ago and, since then, have welcomed over 1,000 Degree Apprentices onto programmes, steadily growing our work-based learning of Higher and Degree Apprenticeships.

Our Faculties now offer a wide range of Higher and Degree Apprenticeships and we work with over 350 employers and local authorities including Telford & Wrekin, Dudley, Walsall, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Sandwell Councils, public and private health care providers such as the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, Walsall NHS Trust and Priory Group as well as a number of small and medium sized employers.

Throughout the week we will be shining the spotlight on some of our employers who are committed to upskilling their workforce and some of our Apprentices who, despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic over the past two years, are continuing to learn or who have already graduated.

Employers who are interested in talking to the Apprenticeship Hub about Degree Apprenticeships check out the website, telephone 0800 953 3222 or email apprenticeshiphub@wlv.ac.uk
