CLASS OF 2025: Outstanding rail leader honoured with an Honorary Fellowship

Andy Clode, a University of Wolverhampton alumnus, has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship in recognition of his exceptional leadership and service to the UK rail industry.
With over 35 years of experience, Andy has held senior commercial and finance roles across major alliances including Network Rail, Balfour Beatty, and Amey, overseeing multi-million-pound infrastructure programmes. His expertise spans procurement, governance, and strategic delivery across civil engineering and rail systems.
As Head of Finance and Commercial at the Central Rail Systems Alliance, he leads a £250M+ operation and a 70-strong team, championing apprenticeships and innovation.
A passionate advocate for student employability, Andy has built strong ties with the University, supporting placements and career development. His career reflects a deep commitment to excellence, collaboration, and mentoring the next generation of rail professionals.
Andy said, “I’m deeply honoured to receive this Honorary Fellowship from the University of Wolverhampton. It’s a privilege to be recognised by an institution that played such a significant role in shaping my own journey. I’m passionate about supporting the next generation of rail professionals—particularly those pursuing careers in commercial disciplines—and proud to champion the University’s mission to create life-transforming opportunities within the built environment.”
Honorary awards are presented by the University of Wolverhampton to people who have made a significant contribution to their field of expertise.
