Incident Response Plan

Estates and Facilities Incident Response Plan

Introduction:

Emergency planning ensures early recovery from an unforeseen incident that maximises safety, minimises problems and enables operations to continue should the need arise. This document will serve to assist the University, in particular Estates and Facilities, to manage such incidents rather than having an unstructured response, it also sets out arrangements to be put in place.

This document is aligned with the University of Wolverhampton’s overarching document, University Major Incident Plan (UMIP).

Purpose and Scope:

The University’s primary purpose when an incident occurs is to ensure the health, safety and well-being of its staff, students and visitors and also to safeguard its physical environments. Thereafter, early recovery from an unforeseen incident will be the priority in terms of business continuity and this will require the full co-operation of key stake holders for the Schools/departments involved, working in conjunction with risk assessors and loss adjusters as required.

This Incident Response Plan covers those areas that are within the management remit of the University. In some instances, the incident may occur away from the University campuses. It is not intended that this Incident Response Plan should apply to partner institutions, and/or off-site locations under the control of others whether workplaces or private residences.
